PHOTO COMPOSITE

We were tasked to create a biblical image compositing 10+ photos. For my photo composite assignment, I chose Matthew 14 as my biblical theme. I decided that I wanted to illustrate Jesus and Peter walking on water. In this passage, the disciples see Jesus walking on water during a crazy storm and Jesus tells Peter to come join him on the water. My original idea changed a lot through the process. Originally, I wanted to create a stark, chaotic ocean scene with Jesus, Peter, and a boat. I wanted to create an overlay of hands over the scene to show that Jesus reaches out and wants to walk through everything with us. Because the hands wouldn’t print well, I had to take an- other approach. I decided to use generative fill to elevate the scene that I had already created. I added waves on one side and a calm ocean on the other. This choice was made to show that even through our chaos, God is steadfast and we can find peace and calmness in him. I created a pretty, calm sky on the side of Jesus and added lighting and dark clouds on the other side. Using generative fill was very helpful for this assignment. I couldn’t find exactly what I needed from other images online and Generative Fill was able to add the elements I needed. It is so cool that generative fill matches the additions with layer adjustments already on the artboard. Overall, I am very happy with how my project turned out and I think it does a good job demonstrating my theme while also being a fantastic looking scene.
