Canoe Races of the World (C.R.O.W.) is a beloved Cast Activities heritage event with a long-standing tradition and strong sense of community. The Cast Activities team’s vision was to create a documentary-style video that not only showcased what makes this event so special but also highlighted the extensive safety measures that make it possible. I had the unique opportunity to blend emotional storytelling with important safety messaging throughout the project.
My role included developing a shot list, attending early-morning C.R.O.W. sessions beginning at 5 a.m., capturing video and photography, interviewing participants, editing photos, producing two versions of the video, and creating a recap email featuring event highlights, key statistics, and a link to the final sizzle reel. This project challenged me creatively while allowing me to tell a meaningful story, making it one of my favorite and most rewarding projects to date!
